Passadiços do Paiva: Round trip Route

Some intrepid hikers choose to hike the Passadiços do Paiva trail as a round trip, skipping the taxi/jeep that takes you from the end point back to the beginning trailhead, and walking the whole way themselves. This is possible, although it makes for a very long day.

If you choose this route, start at the Espiunca trailhead so that you hike with a slight incline for the majority of the trail, and finish traveling up (and then down) the steep stairs to Areinho. Then, you’ll repeat the steep up-and-down of the staircase as you set off from Areinho, and you’ll have slight decline on the boardwalk as you travel back to Espiunca.
