Passadiços do Paiva and 516 Arouca Bridge: Kids

The Passadiços do Paiva offer an opportunity for adventurous kids to explore the Paiva river canyon, but you’ll want to make sure they’re experienced enough to be able to walk the 5.3 mi / 8.6 km one-way trail. Summer can get hot; make sure to bring plenty of water, snacks, and sun protection (clothing, hat, and sunscreen), along with a swimsuit and towel if you choose to take a dip in the water at Vau. 

The 516 Arouca Bridge is high off the ground, with a slight sway as you walk across the suspension bridge. You’ll want to make sure kids (and adults for that matter) are not afraid of heights. 

Children under 10 require a free ticket for the Passadiços do Paiva. The 516 Arouca Bridge only permits children ages 6-17 to enter. Strollers are not permitted in either attraction.
